Recommendations :
- Keep in mind that Flamingos are migratory birds, therefore, their populations can change in size throughout the year. The host does not guarantee the successful sighting of birds during the activity, especially in times of drought. Therefore, it is preferable to do this activity first thing in the day to be able to see these birds in all their splendor.
- Keep in mind that the rainy season in La Guajira is in the months of September, October and November; This also depends a lot on climatic factors since sometimes rains can begin to occur from the month of August; Therefore, this makes access to Punta Gallinas difficult, which is why alternative plans or rescheduling of reservations are offered.
- If you chose to take your hammock tour, we recommend that you bring a light blanket for the nights because it is very windy and if you can bring a rest pillow, even better.
- If you want to bring something to the local people, you can do it: what we recommend you bring is groceries, water, clothes, school supplies and/or toys for the children.
- In high season it is better to reserve bed accommodation in advance since it is very difficult to find this accommodation in the rancherías.
- The food offered in the experience is typical and consists of: fish, chicken and Creole goat.
- Lunch on the last day is included as long as the flight is after 5:00 pm.
- An additional value of $25,000 COP for a round trip transfer must be paid to get to the lagoon where the flamingos are found (Please note that this depends on climatic factors, this value may increase or decrease and must be paid at the destination).
